Aber keine Angst, es handelt sich nicht um Jess Franco Territorium, nicht das ich Franco nicht schätze, im Gegenteil, aber bei Prigione di Donne handelt es sich um „anspruchsvolleres“, der Regisseur Rondi war Drehbuchautor für Fellini, Rossellini und Visconti!!!
Es bleibt natürlich spekulatives Kino wie auch bei dem stimmigen Die Nacht der rollenden Köpfe. Endlich mit einem tollen Bild von einem 4K Master! Release date der Mediabooks ist der 2 April!

Pre-sales for the next two films are starting – one of them is going to Giallo territory and the other to the women’s prison! But don’t worry, it’s not Jess Franco territory, not that I don’t appreciate Franco, on the contrary, but Prigione di Donne is more “sophisticated”, the director Rondi was screenwriter for Fellini, Rossellini and Visconti!!!!
Of course, it remains speculative cinema, just like the entertaining Death carries a Cane. Steely Blades everywhere! Finally with a great picture from a 4K master! Release date of the Mediabooks is 2 April!

First the Austrian Film SITUATION aka DEADLINE aka SLAUGHTER DAY aka LUGER CALIBRO 9: MASSACRE PER UNA RAPINA by director Peter Patzak. His first film is clearly a Heist movie and a wonderful example of Europloitation Cinema. For the first time since it’s small theatrical release in 1972 this film can be seen again with English audio!
The other one is a wonderful example of the Heydays of the Italian Giallo Genre and also from 1972! Silvio Amadio ´ s IL SORRISO DELLA IENA aka SMILE BEFORE DEATH for the first time digitally and in HD worldwide! Comes with English audio and subs on everything!

Zum ersten Mal seit seinem kleinen Kinostart im Jahr 1972 ist dieser Film wieder mit englischem Ton zu sehen! natürlich haben wir auch die deutsche TV/VHS Version als Bonus an Bord die erst 1984 entstand. Dieser deutsche Ton wurde auch der original Version angelegt.

Story
A series of murders is terrorizing Rom and the Killer is leaving cards of the Struwwelpeter children book on the victims. It´s Police Inspector Lomenzo´s (Michele Placido) case but also the private investigation bureau of Riccio (Eli Wallach) is on it. The beautiful Jeanne (Corinne Clery), who knows about bizarre happenings at the Villa Hoffmann, is getting the Inspector on a possible right path. Hoffmann (John Steiner) and his strange Flora & Fauna Club seem to be connected and there lies probably the key to the murder….
Director PAOLO CAVARA, known for his work with Jacopetti & Prosperi on various Mondo Movies but also for The black belly of the tarantula, Los Amgios or The wild eye etc. created here a wild and bizarre film, a real bastard of a Giallo and Poliziotto. Lead by investigator MICHELE PLACIDO (The Octopus, The Pyjama Girl Case, Giovanni Falcone etc) and the beautiful CORINNE CLERY (History of O, Hitch Hike, Moonraker etc), the always fantastic ELI WALLACH (The good, the bad and the ugly, MacKennas Gold, Crazy Joe etc.) has a strange role as leader of a private investigation company. The great JOHN STEINER plays the mysterious Hoffmann and even TOM SKERRITT (Alien, The Devil´s Rain, Top Gun, Poltergeist III etc) can be seen in one of his rare italian appearances.
DANIELE PATTUCHI is supporting E Tanta Paura with an outstanding and fascinating score.
